National Day of Prayer for Mental Illness Recovery and Understanding headed to CSRA

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) — The CSRA community is invited to the National Day of Prayer for Mental Illness Recovery and Understanding.

It’ll take place on October 7 at 6:30 p.m. at Lighthouse Christian Fellowship Baptist Church, 2877 Lumpkin Road in Augusta.

The interfaith service, organized by local psychiatrists Dr. Lynn Tyson and Dr. Jocelyn Bayliss, has been held in the area for more than 20 years. It will feature participants from Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, and Unitarian Universalist traditions.

The event aims to raise awareness, foster understanding, and support those affected by mental illness in the community.
